I like your enthusiasm...

a R2.

Profunda. Olorosa. Respondia o que me viesse à cabeça.

Lembras-te. Eu não me lembro bem. Quantos anos passaram. Dezasseis. Dezassete. E eu fui. Senta-te. E eu sentei-me. E beijaste-me os lábios. Só os lábios. Assim. Levemente. Eu fechei os olhos. Abraçámo-nos sem dizer uma palavra. Sentados no passeio encostados ao muro. Apertados. Assim.

Epistolário XXIV

[Pieter Brueghel o Jovem - Provérbios (pormenor)]

Oh those girls are ten a plenty,
you’ve got so much more, you’ve got... you’ve got... you’ve got a wonderful personality!
(
Corpse Bride, de Tim Burton)

Ρ.Α. ao seu André

Não paras de delirar. Ainda que te avise. Ainda que saibas. Ainda que. Mas quê. Não vale a pena. Deixa-te ir. Porque se é assim. Porque se é isto que queres. Se preferes viver o sonho. E depois acordar. Sozinho. Subir. Voar. E depois cair. Sozinho. Pois sonha. Pois voa. Pois cai. Levantar-te-ás. E eu estarei aqui.

Tenho-me lembrado daquela noite. Quando me. Tão tolo. E tu nem bebias muito. Mas eu já sei. Quando te falta a coragem. És tão tonto. Porque nem assim tens conseguido. E quando íamos beber shots. E escondíamos os copos. Lembras-te.

Tu sabes. Porque tu também foste um desses. Lembras-te. Quando andavas com miúdas. Ah mas eu sei que tu gostavas. Que não era para disfarçar. Lembras-te da C. Eu não. Porque eu não estava lá. Mas eu sei. Porque estou em ti. Na tua memória. Eu sou a tua memória. É só o que eu sou.

Talvez tenha sido porto. Não sei. Não interessa. Tu gostavas de porto. Passaste meio tonto. Tu és tonto. Sempre. Mas estavas mais. Mesmo tonto. Eu, não sei. Estava talvez encostado à parede a beber cerveja. As mariconças. Tu passaste. A sorrir. Coisa estranha. Parou o tempo. Para ti. Vi-te chegar ao pé de mim. Abraçaste-me e eu abracei-te. E depois deste-me um beijo. No pescoço. Ou na cara. Não me lembro. Não interessa. Foi um beijo. E eu achei que tu finalmente. Que o porto te tinha. Mas não. Melhor assim. Para ti. Não sei. Às vezes penso se.

Se tu te pudesses ver. O susto nos teus olhos. Amigo. Se alguém devia estar assustado era eu. Não tu. Agarraste-te a mim e disseste desculpa desculpa desculpa. Desculpa o quê. Deste-me um beijo. De amigo. Não foi um beijo de. Apesar de.

Por isso pára. Não sonhes. Não delires. Porque tu não és capaz. Ou és. Não sei. Se calhar és. Mas e se.

Ρ.Α.

And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor shall be lifted... nevermore.

«Vincent Malloy is seven years old
He's polite and always does as he's told
For a boy his age, he's considerate and nice
But he wants to be just like Vincent Price

He doesn't mind living with his sister, dog, and cats
Though he'd rather share a home with spiders and bats
There he could reflect on the horrors he has invented
And wander dark hallways alone and tormented

Vincent is nice when his aunt comes to see him
But imagines dipping her in wax for his wax museum
He likes to experiment on his dog Abercrombie
In the hopes of creating a horrible zombie
So he and his horrible zombie dog
could go searching for victims in the London fog

His thoughts aren't only of ghoulish crime
He likes to paint and read to pass some of the time
While other kids read books like "Go Jane Go"
Vincent's favorite author is Edgar Allen Poe

One night while reading a gruesome tale
He read a passage that made him turn pale
Such horrible news he could not survive
For his beautiful wife had been buried alive

He dug out her grave to make sure she was dead
Unaware that her grave was his mother's flower bed
His mother sent Vincent off to his room
He knew he'd been banished to the tower of doom
Where he was sentenced to spend the rest of his life
Alone with the portrait of his beautiful wife.

While alone and insane incased in his doom
Vincent's mother burst suddenly into the room
She said, "If you want to you can go out and play
It's sunny outside and a beautiful day."

Vincent tried to talk but he just couldn't speak
the years of isolation had made him quite weak
So he took out some paper and scrawled with a pen:
"I'm possessed by this house and can never leave it again."

His mother said, "You are NOT possessed and you are NOT almost dead
These games that you play are all in your head
You are NOT Vincent Price, you're Vincent Malloy
You're not tormented or insane, you're just a young boy
You're seven years old, and you are my son
I want you to get outside and have some real fun"

Her anger now spent, she walked out through the hall
While Vincent backed slowly against the wall
The room started to sway, to shiver and creak
His horrored insanity had reached its peak
He saw Abercrombie, his zombie slave,
and heard his wife call from beyond the grave

She spoke through her coffin and made ghoulish demands
While through cracking walls reached skeleton hands
Every horror in his life that had crept through his dreams
Swept his mad laughter to terrified screams

To escape the badness, he reached for the door
but fell limp and lifeless down on the floor
His voice was soft and very slow
As he quoted "The Raven" from Edgar Allen Poe:
"And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted...Nevermore."»

If he only knew the you that we know

[Bosch - Tentação de Santo Antão (pormenor do painel direito)]

«MAGGOT
What does that whispy little brat have that you don't have double?

BLACK WIDOW
She can't hold a candle to the beauty of your smile

EMILY
How about a pulse?

MAGGOT
Overrated by a mile!

BLACK WIDOW
Overbearing!

MAGGOT
Overblown!

MAGGOT AND BLACK WIDOW
If he only knew the you that we know!

EMILY
(sigh)

BLACK WIDOW
And that silly little creature isn't wearing his ring!

MAGGOT
And she doesn't play piano!

MAGGOT AND BLACK WIDOW
Or dance

MAGGOT
Or sing

MAGGOT AND BLACK WIDOW
No she doesn't compare!

EMILY
But she still breathes air...

BLACK WIDOW
Who cares?

MAGGOT
Unimportant!

BLACK WIDOW
Overrated!

MAGGOT
Overblown!

MAGGOT AND BLACK WIDOW
If only he could see
How special you can be
If he only knew the you that we know!

EMILY
If I touch a burning candle I can feel no pain
If you cut me with a knife it's still the same
And I know her heart is beating
And I know that I am dead
Yet the pain here that I feel
Try and tell me it's not real
For it seems that I still have a tear to shed...

MAGGOT
The sure redeeming feature
From that little creature
Is that she's alive.

BLACK WIDOW
Overrated!

MAGGOT
Overblown!

BLACK WIDOW
Everybody know that's just a temporary state
Which is cured very quickly when we meet our fate.

MAGGOT
Who cares?

BLACK WIDOW
Unimportant!

MAGGOT
Overrated!

BLACK WIDOW
Overblown!

MAGGOT AND BLACK WIDOW
If only he could see
How special you can be
If he only knew the you that we know!

EMILY
If I touch a burning candle I can feel no pain
In the ice or in the sun it's all the same
Yet I feel my heart is aching
Though it doesn't beat it's breaking
And the pain here that I feel
Try and tell me it's not real
I know that I am dead
Yet it seems that I still have some tears to shed!»
